Ask any Classic DLH4 user how they feel about their "dedos" and you'll get roughly the same response; "I love them, had them for years, and I bring my personal kit on every job". The newest LED focusing dedolights are built to provide that same response...they are the new Classics, with all the LED perks.
Dedo users have come to know what a real clean-beam looks like from a dedolight. From one side of the beam to the other, you can expect perfection. Still using dual aspheric lensing, a fundamental trait of the Classic DLH4 which put dedolight on the map, the LED family of focusing lights carry that tradition and expectation of the highest output qualities. One result from this unique lensing is the level of optimization once can achieve with smaller packages. Traditionally, small fresnel studio lights offer a focusing ratio of roughly 1:3. Some larger studio fixtures can reach ratios of 1:6. Dedolights reach an insane range of 1:25 (referring to the change of light intensity when focusing from flood to spot). At the same time, the variation of exit angle is changed from 60° to 4° spreads (depending on the light model). Without time-killing attachments, those kind of numbers are not obtainable for any other focusing lights in the market, especially LED "systems". Add a wide-angle lens and take the focusing range to an astonishing 1:55 ratio, and the native exit angle from 4° to almost 90°. You may have heard of optical attachments like this for cameras, but nobody has ever built anything like it for the focusing lights.
We'd argue that with each accessory, from Parallel Beam Intensifiers to the well-known imaging projectors, you're achieving greater results against other single-purpose lights which attempt each one individually. If you've use dedolight accessories before then you know how simple they are to use. The amount of time saved in set-up alone over the life of your light is nothing short of remarkable. From one accessory to the next, no tools are required to attach any light shaping accessories. It literally takes a couple seconds to switch from a soft light attachment to a shutter projector if needed. In each collection below, you'll find the light heads along with their compatible accessories.
